PARACAS


PARACAS culture was a an archaeological culture from the ancient Peru.



LOCATION
 located along the central coast of Peru. the cultural centre is located in the CERRO COLORADO's  hill. Near the paracas peninsula.


CHARACTERISTIC

  • how old: 400bc-200ad
  • discovered by: Julio C. Tello in 1925





ORGANIZATION
paracas have a theocratic polity, influenced of Chavin culture.
the privileged class was the priestly and warrior nobility while folks were the exploited class.









CERAMICS
Paracas pottery is also expressed in the two periods: Paracas Caverns was Polychrome, is represented by pitchers, plates, cups with pictures of Chavin´s.felines   Paracas Necropolis was Monochromecharacterized by a double peak and neck bridge.


TEXTILERIA

The Paracas Caverns Tissue is two-tone, because there were representation of anthropomorphic creatures, felines, geometrized with snake hair, technique predominates double fabric. While in Paracas Necropolis is polychrome and represents characters holding staves or trophy heads.
